How can I clean up Active Directory?

May 22, 2017 Active Directory, Active Directory Reporting, Knowledge Base

Please note: True Last Logon has now been replaced with AD Reporting.

Do you have more users and computers objects in Active Directory than you actually have in the physical world? This is a common problem for most organizations, unless you have a process in place to remove users and computers as they leave the company.

One way of keeping on top of old/redundant user and computer accounts is use the Scheduler built-in to True Last Logon, the scheduler now has access to the built-in reports such as ‘Users that have not logged on in the last X days/months’ or ‘Users expired this month’ and ‘Computers that have not logged on in X days/months’. You can add as many schedules as you need and the schedule can perform actions on users/computers that have been found such as moving or disabling the users/computers.
